Dr. Wan graduated from UCLA in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Physiological Sciences. He then earned his doctorate in optometry from the U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Wan spent several years as a civilian optometrist at Camp Pendelton, serving the dependents and retirees of the U.S. Marines and Navy. He specializes in fitting contact lenses, including bifocal contacts, medically indicated contact lenses for conditions such as keratoconus, high myopia and anisometropia. He currently participates in several research projects in contact lenses and solutions. Dr.Wan is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease, such as glaucoma & diabetic retinopathy. Full therapeutic privileges are utilized with the ability to prescribe topical steroids, glaucoma, & systemic medications. He also participates in laser refractive surgery co-management and ocular disease and post-refractive surgical care for patients. Dr. Wan resides in Scripps Ranch with his wife and two children. Dr. Wan's personal interests include baseball, volleyball, biking, basketball, and working with youth. He has volunteered as part of medical teams for eye care for the underprivileged. Dr. Wan was named America's Top Optometrist for 2006 by the Consumers Research Council of America.
